Where we are

We are based in Department 12 which is on the main corridor

What patients say

When I am in the art room, I feel about as far from my cancer as its possible to feel

The doctors keep me alive but the art room helps me live

An essential aid to feeling positive it’s very up lifting on the spirit

Taken on a magical tour; a truly wonderful experience. I left with a big smile on my face

I felt encouraged to try something new, something that took me into a different place and gave me an inner strength, healing and delight

It helped me in so many ways. I forgot the pain for the two hours of the session and felt a sense of relaxation

What we do

A relaxed space which supports patients and carers by helping them to discover their creativity at a time when they may be feeling at their most vulnerable. A staff art group also runs as part of The Christie's commitment to staff support.

There are several drop in sessions each week for patients and their carers. No previous arts experience necessary - the sessions are informal, fun, and relaxing.

A wide range of activities are available, including working with professional artists to bring out your natural creativity.

Regular sessions are:

  • Monday 1.30 - 3.30pm
  • Wednesday 1.30 - 3.30pm
  • Thursday 10.30 - 3.30pm

The art room and classes are funded by The Christie Charity
