Responsibilities
- Chemotherapy and radiotherapy for breast, oesophagogastric and hepatobiliary cancers.
- Dr Bhatt is visiting consultant at Tameside General Hospital with responsibility for chemotherapy and radiotherapy for breast cancer. Dr Bhatt also attends upper gastrointestinal cancer multidisciplinary meetings at the University Hospital of South Manchester and Manchester Royal Infirmary, linking with Trafford General, Stepping Hill, Macclesfield District General and Tameside General Hospitals.
Professional biography
Dr Bhatt is a graduate of Manchester Medical School with an additional BSc(Hons) in Experimental Immunology and Oncology.
She returned to Manchester as a consultant having completed specialist training in the West Midlands, working at University Hospitals Birmingham, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals and Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.
Dr Bhatt has a special interest in the use of MR Linac for pancreatic cancers, and stereotactic radiotherapy for the upper abdomen.
Educational Interests
Dr Bhatt has an interest in Undergraduate Education. She is Oncology Block Lead for Manchester Medical School and Christie Hospital Director of Undergraduate Medical Education. On a national level, she is a member of the RCR Clinical Oncology Undergraduate Steering Group.
