The Ella Dawson Foundation is a national charity providing a safe, supportive and uplifting space where young adults with cancer and their families, can access tailored physical, psychological, emotional, nutritional, wellbeing support within a welcoming and like-minded community.
Their support includes fully funded access to:
- Psychological wellbeing – a team of clinical psychologists specialised in young persons’ oncology available quickly to help talk through thoughts and feelings and help develop tools to help build resilience.
- Physical wellbeing –
- Access to Level 4 Cancer and Exercise Specialist and Specialist Yoga Instructor
- Yoga classes and online yoga classes
- Nutritional wellbeing – personalised nutrition programmes from our nutritionist which help to provide good nutrition to help your body cope with treatment and be as strong as possible.
- Wellbeing – including:
- Days out and breaks to relax and enjoy fun time with family and friends.
- Journaling – through the foundations own ‘Life Notes’ journal, available free to all young adults, 18-30, with a cancer diagnosis
- Breathwork, mindfulness, reflexology workshops
- Social wellbeing – regular social meet-up days in the North of England to spend time, go for a walk, spend time in nature or just have a cuppa with friends who ‘get it’

Sam’s Gift is a charity which supports teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer. They provide young patients with a beautifully presented “Journey Box” which includes a variety of items that will positively encourage and guide them through such a difficult time in their lives.
Guidance for poster submissions on the subject of teenagers and young adults research
Abstracts should be saved with your full name and event as the name of the document e.g. ‘John Smith Teenagers and Young Adults Research Abstract’ and emailed to the-christie.educationevents@nhs.net by 5pm on Friday 23 September 2022 with the cover submission form attached.
- Please refer to the below submission form template when completing your abstract (250 words max)
- Upon submission, all successful abstracts will be contacted and asked to submit an A4 PDF poster.
- You may be selected for a brief oral presentation. If you would not be happy to give an oral presentation, please highlight this on the submission form.
- There will be a discounted ticket rate for all poster submissions. A member of our team will offer to book you your discounted place upon receiving your poster.
- A gift voucher will be awarded to the top poster, which will be revealed live at the event.
Due to the virtual nature of the event, posters must be saved in PDF format and submitted electronically. They will form part of an “e-gallery” for delegates to access. All posters must clearly display the applicants’ full name and a relevant contact email address to facilitate any communication after the event.
