Acute Leukaemia: Treatments and Toxicities

Monday 28 June 2021 - via livestream

The aim of this study day is to deliver education to nurses and allied health professionals (AHPs) who currently work caring for patients with acute leukaemia.

There will be a focus on acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and acute myeloid leukaemia (including APML), the current treatments, including intensive and non-intensive options. There will also be sessions on the challenges of managing acute toxicities and haematological emergencies.

  • Acute myeloid leukaemia: intensive and non-intensive treatment
  • Treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in teenage and young adult patients, adults and the elderly
  • Late presentation
  • Acute toxicities

Suitable for nurses and AHPs currently caring for acute leukaemia patients. We would recommend having a year of experience working in a haematology/leukaemia setting.
