The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, an international leader in cancer treatment and research, is taking an innovative approach to staffing by hosting a special one stop recruitment day for nurses and healthcare assistants.
Potential job candidates can drop into the hospital on Saturday, 3rdOctober between 10am and 3pm to meet with staff, have a tour of the facilities, take a brief pre-interview test, and if they meet the required standards, they will be interviewed and could be offered a job by the end of the day.
The open day aimed at nurses and healthcare assistants is expected to attract a high level of interest.
Ann McEvoy, Director of Workforce at The Christie, says: "We are always looking for new and innovative ways to attract new talent to The Christie. We hope the one stop recruitment day will encourage people to visit the hospital and get a real feel for what we are all about and the work we do. There will be the chance to talk informally to our nurses and healthcare assistants, take a look around the hospital and hopefully, for the right candidates, leave with a job!"
Jenny Bartrop, aged 28, a Christie staff nurse from Moss Side, says: "I've recently started working at The Christie and knowing my patients are getting the best care possible is enough to keep me motivated. Working as a team is very important and I've found the team ethic at The Christie to be second to none. I think the one stop recruitment day is a great idea. To have the opportunity to secure a job at the end of the day is wonderful and I would encourage anyone who is interested in a career in nursing to come along on the day."
The one stop recruitment day will give interested parties an opportunity to visit the wards and be interviewed for relevant posts.
On the day, candidates will be expected to sit a brief pre-employment test and then meet a panel of nurses for interview.
Posts available on the day include a mixture of permanent and fixed term positions as well as nurse and healthcare assistant bank workers posts.
