The Christie has been working with the BBC on a prime-time documentary called ‘The Big C & Me’ since February 2014.
Commissioned as a landmark series on cancer - the first on the BBC for nearly 15 years - it is scheduled to be aired on June 1st, 8th and 22nd at 9pm on BBC 1 with 3 x 60 minute programmes.
Filmed across the country with seven hospitals, the series will follow a cross section of people at different stages of their cancer journey. It will examine the emotional and practical impact cancer has on patients and their families, and through their journeys explore the clinical decisions and medical advances that are changing the meaning of a cancer diagnosis.
The documentary will follow two Christie patients and also feature rigged footage from our chemotherapy unit and complementary therapies including our wig service and charity funded Headstart service.
