Contacting a Patient

Telephone Calls

If you'd like to know how a patient is doing, you can either call the ward directly or call patient enquiries on 0161 446 3797.

Mobile Phones

Patients can use mobile phones in certain areas, such as in the day rooms.

If you are using a camera phone whilst visiting a patient at The Christie, we kindly ask that you refrain from taking any photos, unless you've obtained permission. This is in respect to patient confidentiality.

Hospedia

Most beds at The Christie are equipped with Hospedia: a combined telephone, television and radio system. This service lets you contact a patient directly, however please note that incoming calls are more expensive than outgoing calls.

e-Greetings

Patient E-greetings is a fantastic service which allows you to keep in touch with a friend or loved one, currently being treated at The Christie. If you would like to send an electronic greetings, click here. We know they'd love to hear from you.

Medical Information

If you require information on a patient, it is protocol for the doctor or nurse you speak with to ask what your relationship with the patient is. They will also need to seek permission from the patient, before speaking to you in any detail about their condition and treatment.

Infection Control

For the health of our patients we take infection control very seriously. If you are visiting us, there are a few things you should know.
