Surgery
The need for surgery in cancer is well recognised
with good quality evidence indicating that it is the treatment that
is most likely to cure a cancer. The Christie has a long and
illustrious history with regards to the surgical management of
cancer.
We have purpose built theatres which have recently
been expanded allowing specialists to provide care for more
patients, they house some of the most advanced equipment in europe,
the new theatres allow surgeons to carry out more robotic surgery and less
invasive procedures. It is hoped the new facilities will enable us
to build on our international reputation for complex abdominal and
pelvic cancers, peritoneal tumours and advanced plastic surgery
techniques.
