The Walk of Hope

Date 22 September 2012

Put your best foot forward for The Christie

A huge well done and congratulations to the hundreds of Christie supporters who took part in the 2011 Walk of Hope.

It was wonderful to see so many people join us on the day and we hope that each and every one of you thoroughly enjoyed the walk.

This year we were delighted to be joined by special guest Sally Dynevor who plays Sally in Coronation Street. Sally shared her reasons for supporting The Christie with the crowd before joining our walkers for the 10km stroll through Tatton Park.

The Walk of Hope could not go ahead without the support and generosity of the many businesses and people who have given their time and skills to ensure that the event runs smoothly and that everyone has a great time. We would like to say a big thank you to St Johns Ambulance, The Christie Complimentary Therapies Team, Knutsford District Scouts and all of the wonderful volunteers who helped out on the day. Thanks also to A cappella group Sam's Kitchen and Manchester band Silver Magic Ships for entertaining our walkers both before and after the walk, Wings of Love for providing the Doves of Peace and Arnold Clark for their continued support of our sporting events with the use of their vehicles.

We would also like to say a big thank you to Mahoods Marquees and Lightech for helping us to bring the Walk of Hope to life and providing shelter from the unpredictable English weather.

Extra special thanks go to Pannone for sponsoring the Walk of Hope. Their support ensured that more of the money raised goes directly to The Christie. We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the Pannone staff who volunteered on the day.

The Walk of Hope is a 10km evening stroll through the beautiful grounds of Tatton Park. It is an opportunity to honour the courage of loved ones battling cancer, those who have made it through and those who have sadly lost the fight.
