Corrie stars line up to appear in a Christie charity Mother's Day concert

A host of Manchester's best-loved celebrities are preparing to
appear in a Mother's Day spectacular at The Lowry, to help raise
money for the new £17 million Christie radiotherapy centre
currently under construction at Salford Royal.
'Does Your Mother Know' will be performed on Sunday 14th March
and will be hosted by Corrie stars Julie Hesmondhalgh aka Hayley
Cropper and Julia Haworth aka Claire Peacock. The show will also
feature performances by Hollyoaks actress Leah Hackett and former
Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley who played Todd Grimshaw in
the soap.
He said; "The production will feature music from a whole host of
popular artists including Take That, Abba, Queen, The Beatles and
more! Whose mum wouldn't love that as a present this Mothers
Day?"
Co-ordinating the concert is The Manchester Show Choir who have
already raised over £7,000 for the Christie charity. They hope to
reach their fundraising target of £100,000 before April 2011.
Vocal coach Caroline Sceats said; "We have been established for
just five months as a choir and are already recognised as one of
the most prestigious choirs in the region.
"We have already performed at The Trafford Centre, the
Manchester Christmas lights switch on and at The City of Manchester
Stadium and we are really looking forward to now performing at The
Lowry with such a great line up of stars and more surprise guests
to follow."

Actress Julia Haworth said; "I am really pleased to be a part of
such a fantastic production. With a cast of over 100 accompanied by
a live orchestra, this is going to be a great show."
Hollyoaks actress Leah Hackett added; "The Manchester Show Choir
make such a fabulous sound and have a really varied repertoire that
can be enjoyed by all, I am really looking forward to performing
with them."
Corrie's Hayley Cropper, aka actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, is
looking forward to raising as much money as possible for The
Christie. She said; "The Christie do so much good work for the
people of the North West and beyond and I feel privileged to be a
part of this production that could raise well over £10,000 for this
wonderful cause."
'Does Your Mother Know' takes place at The Lyric Theatre, The
Lowry on Sunday 14th March 2010 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15.00 or
