The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 44,000 patients a year. We have a history of over 100 years of leading cancer care.
We are based in Manchester and provide a networked service that serves a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire delivering care as close to the patients home as possible. As a national specialist centre around a quarter of our patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
Acute Oncology refers to the management of the unexpected care needs of the patient with cancer, including emergency situations and the acutely unwell patient.
Christie Medical Physics and Engineering
Christie Medical Physics and Engineering (CMPE) provides medical physics and engineering support to a wide range of NHS and other institutions within the Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire area.
Colorectal and Peritoneal Oncology Centre
The Colorectal and Peritoneal Oncology Centre at The Christie has an international reputation for treating advanced and early colorectal cancer, appendix tumours, peritoneal tumours, anal cancer and tumours within the pelvis.
We are a Christie based team who aim to support current in-patients with complex healthcare and nursing needs in relation to being discharged from hospital

Melanoma
Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC)
The Manchester MSCC service based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust provides a single point of contact for primary and secondary care.
Neuro-oncology is the management and treatment of tumours which occur in the brain and spinal cord (the Central Nervous System or CNS).

The Pharmacy department is represented on a range of committees across the Trust.
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust together with our partners, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust are working with the Department of Health to bring the UK's first high energy proton beam therapy service to Manchester.
The service provides psychiatric assessment and treatment, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and counselling to adult patients at The Christie with acute or chronic psychological problems.
