The team
There are 4 members in the current team. There are
3 senior facilitators in the training team who are supported by an
administration team.
All trainers have undergone extensive training and all are
approved trainers, assessors and mentors for the UK 'Connected'
National Communication Programme. The team's professional
background is a mix of nursing, social work and psychology. It has
over 20 years teaching experience and research experience into
optimal methods of training professionals of all levels, plus a
wealth of experience in working with patients in clinical,
psychological and research roles. The unit maintains a very close
link with the psycho-oncology service at The Christie.
The facilitators have facilitated on the advanced communication
skills training programme for many years. Coming from different
backgrounds they all have considerable experience in working with
patients, and in talking to and exploring the psychological nature
of the patients' problems.
