Cancer Prevention Research Network

In 2004, a report from the Prevention and Risk Planning Group of the National Cancer Research Institute recognised that cancer prevention research was under-represented in terms of cancer research funding, and made a number of recommendations. Among these, they suggested the setting up of research networks. Through a Manchester initiative and including key investigators from The Christie, the first Cancer Prevention Research Network was launched in September 2007.
