Overview of eligibility criteria
There is a Clinical Trial available for most fit
patients with Prostate Cancer if they have progressive disease.
NB - Most trials require
STABLE therapy for 4-6 weeks before trial entry. If considering
HRPC trials - refer BEFORE changing Hormone Therapy.
Unless otherwise indicated, likely to be ineligible for
clinical trials if:
- Performance Status 3-4. i.e. NOT up and about ≥50% of waking
hours
- eGFR <50. Creatinine ≥ 1.5 Upper Limit of Normal
(~180).
- ALT/AST/Bilirubin ≥ 1.5 Upper Limit of Normal.
- Hb ≤9-10, Plts ≤100, neutrophils ≤1.5.
- Transfusion-dependent.
- Systemic condition e.g. significant
CVS/Respiratory/Thromboembolic disease that may impact on trial
entry (PE/recent MI usually rules out, DVT/controlled angina
usually allowed).
- Other malignancy treated within 5 years.
- Biopsy usually required though PSA >50-100 AND positive bone
scan may suffice.
