Research and development

The Research and Development office, which is within the Division of Research, manages and coordinates research governance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • To process and coordinate NHS Permissions for Christie site research project approvals and amendments
  • To undertake sponsorship of research projects where appropriate, providing support for external applications (funding, research ethics, MHRA etc.) and monitoring where required
  • To review and execute research project contracts including, but not limited to, confidentiality, participating site, sponsor and funding awards
  • To coordinate and support research strategy
  • To engage with clinicians to adopt and develop innovations
  • To facilitate our commercial partnerships and provide a single point of contact
  • To ensure research project information is archived according to local policy and national regulation
  • To track and report research performance, ensuring key metrics are met
  • To implement Department of Health and research governance policies and operations
