Basic and specialist surgical training completed in 2007 followed by a PhD in multimodal imaging in biomedicine focused on rectal cancer.
International colorectal fellowship in Brazil with Professor A. Habr-Gama and visiting fellowships in Sweden and Netherlands for the most advanced surgical techniques for the treatment of rectal cancer.

Royal College of Surgeons of England accredited Colorectal fellowship in complex colorectal disease including colorectal cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, intestinal failure and proctology at Barts NHS Trust.
Royal College of Surgeons of England accredited Laparoscopic Colorectal fellowship at the Peterborough City Hospital.
Miss Minicozzi has a strong interest in surgical clinical research for colorectal cancer, in particular she has explored innovative diagnostic methods such as 3D Endorectal Ultrasound and the 1H-MRI spectroscopy to improve the staging of rectal cancer and perform sphincter saving surgery, organ preserving surgery and Watch & Wait strategy.
In addition, she has carried out genetic and molecular studies on colorectal cancer.
Miss Minicozzi has been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions throughout her career and has had more then 65 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
