Paul FulfordGovernor - Registered Medical Staff

Elected by the staff constituency

Consultant surgeon Paul Fulford is the new staff governor for registered medical practitioners. He has worked at The Christie for seven years and is strongly committed to the organisation. As chair of the medical staff committee, he is actively involved in many issues that affect the hospital and staff, which he said will add value to his role as staff governor.

Pam MorrisonGovernor - Registered Nurses

Elected by the staff constituency

Pam has worked at the Christie for 25 years and is our Divisional Lead Nurse for Cancer Centre Services. Her extensive clinical experience has been in acute and oncology environments which is invaluable for her current leadership management  role. 

Attending  various meetings and workshops enables Pam to represent the views of the nursing staff at the council of governors. She has been the deputy chair of the patient experience and involvement committee until early 2010 where she was able to use her extensive experience to enhance the issues being discussed. She is currently a member of the nominations committee.

Pam is always available to discuss issues that relate to the council.

Neil WrathallGovernor - Non Clinical Staff

Elected by the staff constituency

Neil Wrathall works as quality and governance manager in the clinical support services division.

Neil feels it is important that non-clinical staff at The Christie have a voice during this period of transition in the NHS. He believes the role of Governor is an important one enabling a more active role in supporting the Trust with the potential to increase staff understanding and have input into the Trust's decision making process.

Thelma GowenlockGovernor - Volunteers

Elected by the staff constituency

Thelma has been a volunteer at The Christie since 2005 and during this period her role has developed and expanded. She currently provide information and help to patients through Patient Advice & Liaison Service, is the first point of contact for the relatives of patients on the Critical Care Unit (CCU) and shares her experiences by presenting "a day in the life of a Christie volunteer" as part of volunteers' induction.

She has also gathered and presented patients' views on their experience of CCU to support the Unit's bid to gain Practice Development accreditation.

Thelma believes her "hands-on" experience helping patients and relatives is invaluable and wants to use this experience to enable her to be an effective governor and representative for all the volunteers.
