Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know when you need someone to help you with a
project?
When we have a project that needs a patient or carer's
perspective, we contact people on our database who we think would
be interested in being involved.
How do you know who is likely to be interested?
When you join the group we ask you to complete a form and tick
the type of involvement that suits you - such as a committee, a
short-term project and visiting wards or departments. This
information is put onto a database.
How much time would I have to give if I joined the group?
That would depend on you. You are not obliged to take part in
any of the projects offered.
What if my circumstances change or I don't want to take part
any more?
We review the database every year but you can ask for your name
to be removed at any time.
Why do you need to know personal details?
We may wish to have an opinion from someone with a disability,
on how well a particular service works. Sometimes people from
different ethnic backgrounds can give us a different
perspective.
Why do you need to know which departments I have visited.
It helps us match you to suitable projects. For example, if we
are reviewing the service given in a particular department then we
may need someone who has experience of being in that
department.
