Car Parking
Work has commenced on site to improve car parking for
patients and visitors. Designated parking for radiotherapy patients
is in place and spaces for chemotherapy patients will be created in
the near future.
Manchester Cancer Research Centre
A new £28.5 million Manchester Cancer Research Centre
(MCRC) laboratory research facility is being developed on our
site.
Mobile Chemotherapy Unit
Our charity is hoping to raise over £450,000 for a customised
vehicle that will be transformed into a mobile chemotherapy
unit.
Proton beam therapy
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust together with our
partners, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS
Foundation Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust are
working with the Department of Health to bring the UK's first high
energy proton beam therapy service to Manchester.
Maggie's in Manchester
We have formed a new partnership with cancer charity
Maggie's to create a Maggie's centre on our main site in south
Manchester.
New brachytherapy unit
We are building a new two storey unit to enable us to
relocate and expand our existing radionuclide and brachytherapy
services - highly specialised forms of cancer
treatments.
Education centre redevelopment
Work has now started on extending and revamping our education
centre.
Young Oncology Unit
New Young Oncology Unit / Haematology Transplant Unit at The
Christie.
